Eni UK Ltd is a subsidiary of Eni S.p.A., a multinational integrated energy company headquartered in Italy.
Eni has been present in the UK since 1964 with operations in the North Sea and Liverpool Bay area of the east Irish Sea. In all of our sectors we are committed to innovating the energy sector by lowering our carbon footprint and protecting the environment.
Today Eni S.p.A. continues that commitment by looking to the long-term and aiming to play a decisive role in the energy transition to a low carbon future. Our objective is to preserve our planet while promoting efficient and sustainable access to energy for all.
In the UK Eni is taking all steps to support CCUS including an active engagement with Hynet North West and the Net Zero Teesside projects. In Italy, Eni is active in promoting a large CCUS hub centred on Ravenna.
Carbon Catalyst is an independent company dedicated to delivering Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) solutions for large scale decarbonisation. Since its founding in 2020 they have been developing a high-quality portfolio of carbon transport and storage projects across the North Sea, leveraging their expertise in technical, commercial, and operational excellence. Carbon Catalyst has two major UK projects Poseidon and Orion. Project Poseidon has the potential to store up to a Billion tonnes of CO2, decarbonising the SE of the UK and Continental Europe. Orion will be fundamental to supporting the decarbonisation of Humberside and the surrounding area. Whilst the company is founded in the UK it continues to explore and evaluate CO2 storage projects around the globe.
Our purpose is reimagining energy for people and our planet. We want to help the world reach net zero and improve people’s lives.
We will aim to dramatically reduce carbon in our operations and in our production, and grow new low carbon businesses, products and services.
We will advocate for fundamental and rapid progress towards Paris and strive to be a leader in transparency.
We know we don’t have all the answers and will listen and work with others.
We want to be an energy company with purpose; one that is trusted by society, valued by shareholders and motivating for everyone who works at bp.
We believe we have the experience and expertise, the relationships and the reach, the skill and the will, to do this.
To deliver that ambition, we have launched our new strategy that will reshape our business within a decade as we pivot from an international oil company focused on producing resources to an integrated energy company focused on delivering solutions for customers.
A key focus area is low carbon electricity and energy – building scale in renewables and bioenergy, seeking early positions in hydrogen and CCUS, and building out a customer gas portfolio to complement these low carbon energies.
