Sproule ERCE

Sproule ERCE is an employee-owned global energy consulting firm with over 73 years of experience across the energy value chain including conventional and unconventional upstream oil and gas, CCUS, lithium, liquified natural gas and hydrogen.
The majority of the Sproule ERCE team is made up of specialists from the subsurface including geologists, geophysicists, petrophysicists, modelling specialists and reservoir engineers. There is also a wells, facilities and economics group. Our CCUS projects primarily focus on the subsurface, where we have evaluated the capacity, injectivity and containment of saline aquifers and depleted fields from around the globe.
Sproule ERCE provides comprehensive support for CCUS through the following six core services:
• Assessing Risk, Uncertainty & Mitigation: We provide a variety of services to support risk and uncertainty evaluation, leveraging our knowledge of international CCUS assets. We undertake studies from early red flag screening and due diligence to full subsurface simulation modelling of the CO2 plume and pressure response.
• Supporting Project Development and Decision Gates: Our technical studies and risk assessments have been used in Carbon Storage Licence rounds, regulatory submissions and client decision gates. This includes assessment of the capacity, injectivity and containment of saline aquifers and depleted fields.
• Audits and Competent Person Reports: We have prepared reports for Regulators, Equity Investors and M&A deals, to support CCUS business activity. We have significant experience in reporting to SRMS.
• Accessing Finance: We have extensive experience in CCS financing as Lenders’ Advisors. We have engaged with Banks, Export Credit Agencies, Insurance companies and government regulators during these processes.
• Support for Regulators: Our staff have firsthand experience in developing a CCS regulatory framework. We offer support as regulators build frameworks and systems to encourage and govern CCUS in their territories.
• CCUS Education: We offer training and workshops on CCUS subsurface challenges. We also offer bespoke training on advanced topics regarding policy, industry best-practice & regulatory considerations.

Progressive Energy

Progressive Energy is primarily a project development and implementation company, and has extensive experience of overcoming the technical and commercial challenges associated with bringing new technologies to market. We have significant experience of developing CCS projects, and are currently engaged in the development and operation of major hydrogen-related projects to decarbonise the gas networks. We have significant experience of working with large industrials, bringing together and managing consortium partners to meet project specific requirements. Progressive also acts as a consultant to Government, including BEIS and Ofgem, along with private sector clients, such as energy utilities, banks, private equity funds, oil and gas companies, technology providers and other project developers.
Progressive is the lead developer of HyNet North West, an integrated hydrogen and CCS project involving multiple partners in the North West of England.

Goal7

Goal7’s purpose is to develop and accelerate energy solutions which work in balance with the world around us. We are an advisory consulting business providing clear advice and support to accelerate development of whole CCS value chain solutions. Our approach is based on integrating expertise and experience in science, engineering, sustainability and economics.
Our company name is inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goal for Clean and Affordable Energy, Goal7. We feel this goal embraces the combined challenge of global energy inequality whilst transitioning to lower carbon energy sources.
We work across the entire CCS value chain, from the emitters’ capture plants and processing to transportation (both pipeline and non-pipeline) through to subsurface storage. We have advised and supported clients and CCS projects on the NSTA’s first UK Carbon Storage licencing round, appraisal of storage areas in the Netherlands, maturing of Saline Aquifer opportunities in Norway, Track 1 Cluster Sequencing Applications (Phases 1 and 2) as well as EU Innovation Fund, PMI/PCI applications among others.
In addition to CCS, Goal7 provides project support and advice to companies in both Europe and the US looking to reduce energy demand, improve efficiency and transition to low-carbon and renewable based technologies including hydrogen and electrification.

ERM

ERM is a global sustainability, environmental, health & safety and risk management consultancy that is at the forefront of helping to deliver successful Carbon Capture, Usage and Storage (CCUS) solutions. ERM understands the benefits of CCUS in controlling emissions in the Power Generation sector as well as the Industrial Sectors such as metals and chemicals. ERM also understands the importance of CCUS in the generation of hydrogen in a bid to decarbonise the gas network and transport infrastructure. ERM is proud to work directly with clients in those sectors, understanding the complexities of their operations, their emissions and the hurdles of investing in CCUS. Indeed ERM is currently working on several projects in the UK and USA focussing on the risks, benefits and controls for the future use of hydrogen. ERM can therefore combine expertise in the day to day operation of facilities with knowledge of CCUS to develop workable sustainable options.
ERM provides CCUS support from project inception, through to implementation. Our services include strategic support for developers and businesses in assessing project viability, securing private finance and government funding, and successfully delivering planning and permitting consents. Earlsfield Energy was established in May 2025 to create a forward-thinking energy transition business focused on sustainability, energy security, affordability, and a clear commitment to becoming carbon negative. Earlsfield Energy is acquiring gas producing assets to provide cash flow and is creating a platform to fund and progress CCS projects and broader low carbon sector activities. DNV Energy Systems

DNV provides world-class CCUS expertise for technical assurance, testing, advisory and risk management. Our specialist CCUS team is supported by more than 200 engineers in CO2-related disciplines worldwide. We provide expertise in process engineering, flue gas treatment, material technology, testing, corrosion, pipeline integrity, geology, geophysics, oil and gas reservoirs, EOR, well integrity risk and reliability, environmental impact, techno-economics, stakeholder management and CCUS strategy.
At our Spadeadam and Groningen test sites you can carry out full-scale and lab scale testing of any integrity, corrosion and safety issue specifically for CO2 applications.
The widely-adopted DNV industry guidelines and Recommended Practices for CCUS are developed through joint industry projects and are freely available. Currently we run several innovation programs, like HiPerCap, Pipetrans, Subsea CO2, ECO2 and IMPACTS and we are involved in developing the new ISO standard for CCS.
