Encyclis provides energy recovery services which turn residual waste into low-carbon electricity, heat and other reusable materials. Formerly known as Covanta Europe, our state-of-the-art energy recovery facilities support the transition to a circular economy by making productive use of residual waste that would otherwise go to landfill. With over 200 employees, our portfolio includes three facilities in the UK and Ireland, which operate 24/7 to collectively divert 1.5 million tonnes of waste from landfill every year and generate enough electricity to power nearly 300,000 homes. Further facilities are currently under construction, including Protos ERF, which is one of two energy recovery facilities in the UK selected to develop carbon capture and storage capabilities in the first phase of the Government’s carbon capture sequencing programme. With expertise stretching back over three decades, extensive partnerships and continuous innovation, Encyclis provides a progressive solution for waste management.

Cory
Cory is one of the UK’s leading recycling and waste management companies. It operates one of the biggest energy from waste (EfW) facilities in the country, Riverside 1, located on the banks of the River Thames in London. Cory transports waste by a fleet of tugs and barges on the River Thames and turns around 750,000 tonnes of London and the South East’s non-recyclable waste into baseload electricity. Cory plans to install carbon capture technology at its existing EfW facility, as well as its planned Riverside 2 EfW facility, with the potential to create the world’s largest single-site waste decarbonisation project.
