Tees Valley Combined Authority
The Tees Valley Combined Authority was created in April 2016. Our purpose is to drive economic growth and job creation in the area. We are a partnership of five authorities: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees, working closely with the Local Enterprise Partnership, wider business community and other partners to make local decisions to support the growth of our economy. Under the devolution deal with Government, we are taking on responsibilities previously held by Westminster and Whitehall; for transport, infrastructure, skills, business investment, housing and culture and tourism. On the 4th May 2017, the people of the Tees Valley elected their first Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen, who chairs the Combined Authority.

• Creating an internationally competitive energy transition industry in Scotland.
• Scaling the impact of Scotland’s innovation strengths into high-growth industries of the future.
• Driving capital investment to deliver a step-change in Scotland’s productivity.
North London Waste Authority
The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) is the statutory joint waste disposal authority for north London, one of six such authorities in England. NLWA is responsible for the disposal of waste and recycling collected by seven north London Boroughs including Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest. The area served by NLWA consists of over two million residents making NLWA the second largest waste disposal authority in the country by volume of waste managed. The Authority also arranges for the provision of reuse and recycling centres across north London.
The Authority is committed to innovation and careful planning to ensure we manage waste resources effectively and sustainably. NLWA is currently delivering The North London Heat and Power Project which addresses the need to replace the existing energy from waste facility at the Edmonton EcoPark in north London with a new modern Energy Recovery Facility. The £1.2 billion nationally significant infrastructure project is the most significant public sector investment in waste facilities London has seen for a generation.
The new Energy Recovery Facility will contribute to tackling the Climate Emergency, by diverting waste from landfill and generating low carbon heat and power. NLWA plans to capture the direct CO2 flue gas emissions from the new facility. This is in line with recommendations from the Climate Change Committee who identify that support for carbon capture and storage for energy from waste facilities is the best route for the waste sector to contribute to a net zero economy.
Net Zero Industry Wales
Net Zero Industry Wales (NZIW) was incorporated in 2022, it will work in partnership with business and academic partners operating in a wide range of energy and carbon intensive industries to enable the decarbonisation their industrial processes.
NZIW is members organisation, core funded by Welsh Government and sits under the Industry Wales (sector development partnership Wales) umbrella, which is an arms-length organisation of the same government.
Amongst the priorities of NZIW will be to assist Welsh industry in developing Net Zero aligned pathways, aggregating the individual company plans to sector specific pathways and supporting the coordination of regional infrastructure to achieve this objective, which are key to delivering and executing the decarbonisation plans.
NZIW will work to develop a strong membership base and, build lasting partnerships and support the delivery of investment from both the public & private sectors by maximising opportunities from UK-level support mechanisms whilst ensuring activities align with Welsh Government policy priorities.
